Spring at last ...

Well the sun is shining the daffodils are out and the garden is beginning to look lovely!

I just wish I had another week off work to enjoy more of this lovely weather, especially as the kids are still on Easter holidays.

Since last posting I have been really busy and I can't believe that we are nearly half way through April already, before you know it we will be talking of Christmas again!!

Well Ashley is back on crutches as he dislocated his hip the Friday before they broke up for the holidays, during a PE lesson at school, so now waiting to see Orthopaedic Consultant to see what the next step is.  As for Vanessa well as usual she has tennis during the holidays next week, so hopefully will have some news to put on here after next weekend.

And if you haven't noticed I have updated my blog background and hopefully changed my profile photo so that it matches the one on facebook (with the new hairstyle)

Proud Mum

Just wanted to say what a proud mum I am, my son Ashley just got the results of his first modules of GCSE exams that he took in November getting an A* in Biology and 3 A's in Physics, Chemisty and Maths.

We are all really proud of the hard work he has put in considering he has dyslexia!!

Well Done Ashley

So I suppose now its back to reality in a couple of days when the decs come down and the house appears bear despite all the new presents the kids had! Now its time to look at what the new year has ahead for us all and hopefully things will be better this year than in 2009. Love and wishes to you all Helen - x -

Christmas Cake Recipe....

Ingredients: * 2 cups flour * 1 stick butter * 1 cup of water * 1 tsp baking soda * 1 cup of sugar * 1 tsp salt * 1 cup of brown sugar * Lemon juice * 4 large eggs * Nuts * 1 bottle wine * 2 cups of dried fruit Sample the wine to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the wine again. To be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point it's best to make sure the wine is still OK. Try another cup... Just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 eggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Pick the frigging fruit up off floor. Mix on the turner.. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the wine to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something. Check the wine. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or some fink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window. Finish the wine and wipe counter with the cat. Bingle Jells!

First Christmas Card

I don't believe it I received my first Christmas card today and its only the 2nd! I know I have posted some due to them having to go to Australia but obviously too many people have too much time on their hands. Well I suppose I better get writing otherwise I will never get there, so how many of you have sent yours out already, just to make me feel guilty. I still have a birthday to get through first before I can even think about putting up decorations and wrapping presents!

Hopefully I'm off to the Hobbycraft show at the NEC to have a browse around and see what goodies I can resist on buying, although I do have a birthday coming up so maybe I can get round it that way!! I can't wait I'm all excited, who would have thought with all the crafty bits I have and do! Will keep you posted.
